Business Brokers to Private Limited Companies
We are one of the most well connected business transfer agents operating in the SME business sector. As seasoned corporate business brokers we have built up a network of other business corporate advisors and banking connections who have clients of their own. This might seem a little old fashioned in todays internet driven climate, but it works very well for us as part of our marketing strategy.
Our network of contacts includes many other professional advisors who are at the coal face of corporate advisory work, and they are already advising directors on corporate matters at thriving companies.
This means we find better quality buyers who come professionally recommended with serious intent. Acquisition work generates more corporate fee earning opportunity for these professionals from their existing clients and so they are always keen to discuss business acquisitions, but often they do not have the time to constantly trawl the internet for new opportunities.
Using the "push" approach we keep them informed of what we have for sale that could be of interest to one of their many clients.
With over 25 years experience of mergers and acquisitions we feel we can make a difference to your business sale project.
Whatever the business for sale we can help.
Business Director and majority shareholder Ian Taft is an experienced business transfer consultant with many years of previous manufacturing and service industry experience having held various positions as Managing Director, Commercial Director, and Sales Director.
Ian went on to set up and run previous consultancies Brookstreet Corporate Services acquiring companies for private clients, and then Active Business Sales winning Acquisition International Magazines M&A award for Excellence in Business Sale Representation 2016, and then Corporate Live Wire's Award for Innovation and Excellence 2019.
In addition we have Jack Taft LLB and Howard Robinson LLB who are responsible for in house administration and legal advisory work. Our internet presence is handled by Gemma Pitt who heads up our team in Marketing and Social Media and finally Rachel Critchley who looks after Finance.
Taft Corporate Advisors do not operate on the basis of offering high numbers of businesses for sale at any one time so that we can offer a more focussed approach to your sale. We offer a tailored personal service to our clients and act as your reliable right hand concentrating on the sale of your business allowing you to concentrate on maintaining performance.
Selling companies involves handling a lot of enquiry traffic which needs to be verified in terms of suitability and financial capability.
Information requests need to be handled professionally, and information obtained where necessary, this is then supplied and recorded so that we are aware at all times in terms of which enquirer has had which information as specific buyer information requests do happen.
Using a business transfer agent takes away this traffic and time consuming task as the need to service these requests that can overwhelm a business owner trying to tackle the job alone. Maintaining confidentiality while conducting the business sale from within the business while trying to run the company is a very difficult thing to do under these circumstances.

Whatever your business we can sell it.
We offer three different sale packages to suit clients requirements.
All situations are different and our fees are agreed with you prior to engagement of our services.
We do not expect large up front fees and so you have no reason to avoid giving us a call to discuss your situations and the different the different sales agency fee agreement options.
If you are unhappy with your current business broker you should discuss the reasons for this with them and discuss an early release from the sale agency contract. We can often assist with a solution to each parties satisfaction on your behalf if the relationship has deteriorated, and help you move to us for an alternative approach to selling your business.
Unlike our sale instruction agreement many broker agreements have onerous exit terms that need to be checked over before you decide to move. We are happy to advise on the best course of action.
So, if you want to discuss your options further give us a call to discuss .
1. How long will it take to sell my business?
This depends on what is driving the sale. The longer we have the better, we would expect a sale to normally take between 6 and 10 months, but we have sold businesses in much less time and also some have taken longer.
2. Will I be able to keep my car?
This can form part of the business sale and settlement agreed.
3.Will my personal guarantees be cleared?
Any personal guarantees will be cleared by refinance or repayment of the specific liability as part of the Directors exit requirement
4. What about tax implications? We work with your Tax advisors to ensure the sale is structured in the most tax efficient way.
We are happy to discuss by telephone or zoom meeting to run through any questions you may have while we adhere to government instructions for keeping everyone safe.
We are happy to meet away from business premises to reduce the amount of site appearances at the business premises.
We will ensure that we only contact you on the number you have provided and will not make calls to the business reception and staff.
When calling, we always ask if it is convenient to talk before discussing anything further as you may be unable to discuss the sale if you are in the presence of other people.
